At SomScreen Institute (SOSMI), our mission is simple: to empower the Somali community with the digital and creative skills needed to succeed in today’s world. As someone who has spent years in humanitarian filmmaking, videography, and the broader multimedia industry, I have seen the incredible potential our youth hold — potential that only needs the right tools and guidance.

My journey began at Horseed International University, where I studied Information Technology before starting my professional path in filmmaking and visual storytelling. Through SomScreen Studios, I have worked on impactful projects that highlight real stories, real communities, and real change. And through SOSMI, I want to open the door for thousands more to do the same.

SOSMI was created to give every Somali learner — whether beginner or advanced — access to high-quality, practical multimedia education. Our courses are designed to be hands-on, flexible, and career-focused, so you can learn from anywhere and turn your talent into opportunity.
